AFTER 21 YEARS, ONE LITTLE WORD MEANS SO MUCH
 
With the end of 2020 in sight, the Ascent team felt an increased urgency to publicly communicate the changes our payments company has implemented in response to the changing travel landscape. While Ascent has always been known for being trustworthy and helpful, 2020 became the year that we found it vitally important to add both innovation and transparency to our arsenal.

We began transforming our relationships with our software partners, removing barriers that resulted in quicker integrations and faster onboarding of mutual clients.

We committed to rolling out a rebrand in the new year, one with bright new colors and a cheerful, happy logo that better represents the Ascent team’s fresh outlook and offerings.  

We worked tirelessly on a brand-new web presence that better reflects the financial technology and customized products our clients enjoy.  

We spent many meetings brainstorming and reviewing potential new taglines. We liked the old one, “The Destination for Payment Solutions” quite a bit, because it referenced our preferred clientele – those providing destination lodging to travelers of all kinds – but it didn’t represent how we see ourselves now, or how we wanted to be seen. We laughed over the possibility of humorous tag lines recommended by well-meaning marketers, we considered long and arduous taglines that didn’t quite hit the mark, and, as we struggled to find just the right words to communicate the trust and the transparency and the overwhelming commitment to getting the details right for our clients, it dawned on us that the perfect tagline was right there in front of us all along, in those details.     

Each of our customers has a unique business model and deserves customized payment solutions based on their individually preferred method of payment acceptance, their financial requirements, their booking software, state regulations, size, and chargeback guidance needs. In this complex web of changing rules and moving targets, we understand that even the most minuscule of details can make a world of difference. With a staff dedicated to providing extraordinary care, we are committed to treating our clients not as account numbers, but as people with unique financial needs.

And so, in the end, we decided our tagline should speak directly to our clients and our soon-to-be clients. To tell them they are special and important, tell them how connected we feel to the travel industry and to them in particular, and that we are fully committed to back up our promise to work hard to meet all their individual payment acceptance needs. To tell them, by changing one little word in the tagline we have used for over 20 years, that we stand by them in good times and bad, and that we do not provide just any payment services, but highly customized travel payment solutions that will absolutely exceed their expectations.
